A Fallen World

The god of This World is Not The Almighty God

Some have made the accusation that this world has very little Godly evidence or that God even cares. Unfortunately ever since Eve sinned in the Garden and then got Adam to sin with her, this has not been a world of God or Godliness. It is in fact a world run and ruled by the god (little g) of this world, who is now Satan. The Bible teaches that when man fell Satan automatically became our god, and though we chose Satan when we disobeyed God, people still blame and revile God the Creator for all the bad in the world. We had two choices, good or evil and what Adam and Eve did was a direct rejection of God the creator and the good way, and so here we are today.

To say that there is very little Godly evidence in this world could not be further from the truth. Because one does not have eyes to see the beauty, the intricate marvels, and the thoughtful care that had to have gone into planning, preparing and building such a magnificent and interdependent world is inexcusable according to Romans 1:20. God is evident in every aspect on every level in every part of this world.

There is widespread lack of understanding of what happened and is still happening, and will continue to happen until Jesus returns. Those who read the Bible will remember that the devil even offered to give Jesus the kingdoms of this world if He would only worship him. So we see here that the world was Satan’s to give or to keep.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. ~ Luke 4:5-7 emphasis added

Satan tried to tempt Jesus to turn to the dark side, forsaking the Father when he told Jesus he could give him not only power but the glory that goes along with the kingdoms of the world. Notice that Jesus did not contradict the Devil or challenge him when the Devil stated that the ability to give those things had been transferred to him. While we know Jesus refused the offer of Satan, we can be sure that someone somewhere, and in sometime took him up on such an offer. That is the public face who runs this world today but in the background is Satan yielding the real power. All the more reason we should be careful what and whom we embrace, endorse, or follow for he comes as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14.

Some of those who don't see any or very little evidence of God in this world also say that God is NOT all loving and in that they would be correct. That one sided God is a myth even if he is very popular today but he is not the God of the Bible. The true God has many facets of His character and personality, and the Bible stresses to us that He is a God of Holiness, justice, judgment, mercy, and of course of love along side many other attributes. The God of the Bible is not all one attribute, nor is He more of one than another, He is balanced and true.

Though Satan is now the god, the ruler of this world, that does not mean we are all doomed to be his slaves without hope of escape. That is why Christ came and allowed Himself to be murdered, so we could escape the trap of Satan if we would repent and follow Him. This life is nothing when compared with eternity and the Bible teaches that it is as a vapor. No more than an exhaled breath of air on a cold morning and will quickly vanish away. Dear reader, your life in THIS world is a mere blip on the screen and you will be gone to face eternity. Surely we can give a few years service, our life, to a Holy God who has made a way of escape from Satan and his claim on our soul. A God who wants to help us now as well as later but has conditions that must be met. For a while we must endure the fiery furnace of this life, but if we have Jesus it has meaning and we have hope, and peace where there was none. Soon this life, its' pains, disappointments, and trials will pass and open in a new world. The question is, will the next life open into a life of eternal bliss or will it open in a nightmare. The choice is ours and this world is blissful compared to the nightmare the Bible says MOST people will go to.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. ~ Matthew 7:14 -emphasis added

Some people look at this world and the things going on and what happens everyday to innocent people and even children and they decide that God is a tyrant. I would ask them to consider the following scenario. If you had fallen into a cave and there were jagged spikes all around you, bottomless chasms, and fragile paths that could crumble beneath your feet, would you call those who told you what you had to do to escape, tyrants? God in His love for us has told us what we must do and how to do it in order to escape the snares the devil has laid for everyone in this world. Unfortunately many not only don’t believe God but are also blind to the devils devices and his very existence and that will continue unless they get saved.

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. ~ John 9:39

The God I serve is not a tyrant, but a wise father that knows what I must do in order to live with Him eternally. He provided a way for us to escape a wicked and ungodly world and a body that has been contaminated and condemned by sin and that condemnation is to one day die. This is not what God wanted for us when we were created, but He knew it was a possibility for a people with free choice. Adam and Eve freely exercised their choice which contaminated the entire gene pool if you will and thereby condemned all of us. This is now a world where terrible things happen often by random chance because it is a world out of the created order and balance and a people ruled by sin. Rebellious man is only making it worse by the day throwing God out of every aspect of life and government and making laws that are a slap in the face of God.

Thankfully there are pockets of goodness and Godliness left in this world but those pockets are dwindling as ever fewer numbers of professed Christians follow the Bible and the true God found in those pages. America has been the single largest pocket of goodness, Godliness, and light to a dark world but her light has gone out in recent decades and especially the last few years. Daily Satan takes ground that was once holy, or at least morally upright. Satan has convinced people of freedom and ecstasy if they throw off the shackles of Christianity and the restraints of any kind of holy living. The same old lies that appeal to the flesh and the vanity of the mind has seduced the masses and they rush to the Devils call.

Only those folks who sincerely humble themselves and submit to God in repentance and obedience to Him and His Word will ever have eyes to see what is all around us and ever have any hope of deliverance from this world and the hold of Satan. I pray the reader becomes such a person. Sadly most people are stubborn and proud on top of being downright rebellious. They cannot imagine being dictated to on what and what not to do. They are determined to not have any part with God and so for a mess of pottage they throw away their inheritance as did Esau in Genesis 25:23-34. Folks God created a world that was perfect, but that world died long ago and now bad things happen to innocent people. Jesus came to give us a way out instead of remaining in such a place after we die. The new Heaven and the new earth will be perfect but you must be born again in order to be eligible to go.

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. ~ Isaiah 65:17 ~ 2 Peter 3:13 ~ 1 Corinthians 2:9 tiny cross
