Truth Never Changes

Opinions change, but truth does not change

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. ~ Proverbs 14:12

As difficult as it is for some of us to comprehend, there are people who don't believe there is any such thing as a truth that is unchanging. They have been taught that what is true today, or in one situation, may not be true tomorrow in a different situation. They believe that the truth is also dependent on the individuals involved in any given situation. In other words, what is true for me may or may not be true for you. Friends we are not talking about a choice of color, clothes, where to live, which school to attend, or what to eat! We are talking about TRUTH, foundational, omnipresent truth. Right vs. wrong, up vs. down, Summer vs. Winter and so forth. Such truth is not affected by how we feel about it, what we think, who is involved, or location.

For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:8

Everything God created is governed by unchanging truths. Pure water always freezes and never boils when subjected to freezing temperatures, and the sun is always hot or warm, never cold, and boulders falling down a mountainside into the sea always make waves in the water. Fire needs oxygen and is hot, it is never cold, cats have kittens and never have pups, the sun rises in the East and never in the West. On and on we could go, but hopefully you can see what we mean when we say that everything in the natural world is governed by an unchanging truth.

Truths that were once overwhelmingly accepted as true and moral are increasingly mocked, ridiculed, and denounced as "outdated" or simply as part of a superstitious era. Since truth does not change it becomes obvious that it is the people who have changed and are attempting to change the universal laws governing truth.

Imagine the chaos if that philosophy of a changing truth applied to gravity for example. We could not always say gravity will cause you to fall to the ground if you jump off a building. Because if the truth about gravity changes then of course the way gravity behaves is going to change and then we must consider where, when, and who. One day you jump off a tall building and end up squashed like a pancake on the sidewalk. Rational people expect this to happen. The next guy jumps off and just hangs there in mid-air and can't get down. This is basically what our young people are being taught and goes hand in hand with the outlandish Situational Ethics also taught in our schools. This flexible so-called truth is also being applied to seeing and hearing. They may see one color while everyone else sees a different color. They hear anger when you hear cooing. It just depends on mood, or environment as to what is seen or heard. These people say they believe opinion or perception changes reality.

This is being taught and being embraced because many Americans are rejecting God and the authority of the Bible where it was once the foundation for law and daily life for not only individuals but for society in general. Common sense Truths that were once overwhelmingly accepted as true and moral are increasingly mocked, ridiculed, and denounced as outdated or simply as part of a superstitious era. Since truth does not change it becomes obvious that it is the people who have changed and are attempting to change the universal laws governing truth.

Even though the physical world and the spiritual and moral aspects of life are governed by the same unchanging truth people have abandoned that anchor and pseudo-science has become their new god and they either adopt so-called truth from fake science, or make their own set of truth rules. The result is that we see ever more people doing what seems right to them instead of following the physical and spiritual truth that God has already laid out for ALL of us to follow. This is why crime and violence are mushrooming, and why there are so many different churches, different denominations, breakdown of the family, government function, and public morality, because people are rejecting and substituting all or parts of God's Truth. They do not believe the fact that what is right is always right and what is wrong is always wrong and that God does not dabble in gray areas but has laid everything out as black or white, true or false.

Their versions of truth are intended to better suit their whims and desires while avoiding the guilt real truth often brings when it has been violated.

As sin proliferates and is brought out of the shadows, individuals and society are floundering under their misguided version of so-called truth and are calling it freedom. Their versions of truth are intended to better suit their whims and desires while avoiding the guilt real truth often brings when it has been violated. Such a system in fact has little or nothing to do with real truth and can only lead to disaster. If any one of us as an individual decides what is right and what is wrong how do we KNOW If we decided correctly? We cannot know for sure apart from the Spirit of God because this body of flesh we live in is prejudiced against God and Truth, it loves to sin, and to oppose God! Therefore it cannot ever be trusted to decide what is real truth.

Truth is not found in experiences which are by nature, open to deception and false interpretations, as is any thought or idea that originates within us. God ordained unchanging truth so that we might find and have some order in a disorderly world that was brought about by the sin Adam and Eve unleashed. Unchanging truth fosters a sense of order, peace, and a certain degree of contentment as society and individuals come to know what is expected, what is acceptable and what is not.

Anyone who cannot, or does not accept God and His Word as the source of all real truth and as the final authority in their life, then they are adrift and have no compass. Such people are the devils plaything and their thinking and perception is readily influenced by Satan who delights in deception. These people have completely mis-placed their faith and trust. Let us hope they don’t test their truth by jumping off a building.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? ~ Jeremiah 17:9

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ~ 1 John 2:15 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ~ John 14:6 tiny cross
