Second Amendment

Clarifying the Founders Intent

Responding to a gun control advocate who believes no individuals should be allowed to own or possess firearms.

The Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights states in part; ...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. You, me, and everyone else here are the people. The meaning of to keep means just that, to keep them in our possession at all times. We do not have to give them back to someone at some point as though we had borrowed them or checked them out and had to return them. No, we can keep our guns with us. When it says bear arms it means we can carry them around. The Free Dictionary.com defines bear as To carry (something) on one's person from one place to another.

One does not have to be a rocket scientist to understand what the second amendment says. They just have to be honest and lack an agenda that is contrary to the document.

According to the United States Constitution, the American people have the right to have guns, to keep them in our possession and to freely carry them wherever we want or need to. Right now our rights are severely curtailed in violation of the Constitution and to the endangerment of the citizenry and the nation. Any questions? Good. I knew it would come clear. ~ JimO tiny cross
