Unlike any time in the past, we find the King James Bible and scores of faithful readers are being verbally attacked and ridiculed not only by everyday people but also by some of those who are considered
scholars of the Bible. All one has to do is go on the Internet and look on any comment board where the King James Bible is held up as God's preserved Word to find a wide assortment of taunts, name calling, ridiculing, and mockery. These often acclaimed scholars usually hold college degrees reflecting years of formal theological study, and many even brag about that on the various sites while keeping their true identity concealed. In spite of their schooling, most of them are totally lacking in the essentials of Spiritual understanding and discernment and all they have is a worldly view of the Bible whether or not they have put forth any sincere effort to be otherwise minded. The Bible teaches that it can only be known and understood with the help of the Holy Spirit of God by those who are born again. Rather than admit that there are things they do not know or understand these scholarly types would rather attack believers past and present, attack the King James Bible and everyone ever connected to bringing it into fruition. In so doing, they are actually attacking God. It is an unfortunate fact that the King James Bible is slandered and maligned daily both by those supposedly educated persons and by the obviously ignorant ones, and that is because of a failure to adhere to a love of truth.
The earthy or carnal world of the non-Christian relies primarily on education and human intelligence to carry them through most situations in life. It is where they get their limited understanding, the same understanding we all had before being born again. Christians on the other hand are to be different and be separate from the secular world in thinking and manner of living. God has given us a new understanding of everything and it is the superior discerning power of the Holy Spirit of God. Our reliance does not come from the carnal or earthy realms, is not based on secular education or understanding, but is from the Holy Spirit of God.
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. ~ John 7:14-16
This is not to say that Christians are to be ashamed of an education or to forgo one that does not conflict and compete with the teachings of Scripture. It is a reminder though that all wisdom and knowledge comes from God and we must be wary and not put Him in second place or lower by trusting more in the carnal knowledge we may have acquired. Such a course has led many to become puffed up with their own thinking. Such a puffed up outlook and attitude will always lead to judgment, a self righteous judgment and is not born of God or His Word.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. ~ Proverbs 3:5
Since so many professing Christians have never seriously read, much less studied the Bible, they have no first-hand knowledge if what they are reading is the real Word of God or not. Attending church is no guarantee of Biblical literacy either as many churches no longer provide the teaching and discipleship needed to properly understand and become strong in the faith. In too many instances folks are attending churches that are like them in that both are totally lacking any spiritual discernment. The result is that many churches are handing out carnal feelings based doctrines and the congregates are accepting everything that carnal thinkers, teachers, and Bible translators, are handing out as being Spiritual Truth.
With churches failing to properly teach, and individuals failing to study the Bible and the in-depth history of its origins, most folks are left susceptible to the influence of the counterfeits and those that recommend them. Sadly most of them could not judge or discern one version from another even though their eternity depends on just that. One result is that
Christians in record numbers are embracing the attitudes, desires, thinking patterns, and practices of the world. This is why we see the time tested, sin convicting, revival generating King James Bible kicked to the side, even denigrated as not being the
best translation, while congregation after congregation embrace perversions of God's Word that come from tainted sources. Folks, once again we have failed to adhere and the cost is beginning to become obvious. | Continued on Page two |
