For the English speaking world the Authorized King James Bible of 1611 is the true, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. The only other
Bibles that can truthfully make the same claim are those based upon the same original manuscripts as the King James, and translated into other languages by righteous men called of God. All the others are counterfeit and corrupted by the hand of man. This position is no more radical than that of Jesus Christ who proclaimed;
...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ~ John 14:6
Most people who apply themselves to truly study the recorded history of the various Bibles, cannot truthfully withstand the factual conclusion that the King James Bible is far superior to all others. Too often those who believe that choosing a
Bible is a matter of personal choice have never applied themselves to true study of the facts. Instead they prefer to cast doubt on the mental capacity of those who, after having done the research and the prayer, take a firm stand on the facts.
Being told that the new versions are better, and that all the versions have errors, this writer once accepted this line of thinking. Also accepted was the lie that the manuscripts of the new versions were the
best and that the experts were the ones we should trust in this matter as our knowledge is limited, not being a
At one time in the past, not only did this writer believe the purveyors of error, but unfortunately peddled it to others as well. Having repented of the ignorance, and promoting of false
Bibles, the truth has finally come through study and much prayer. Folks, that which is easiest to access when we seek out an answer, or that which comes before your eyes so easily, is seldom the truth, but is most often found only after a bit of digging.
God's Word has many a
don't do in regards to living as a follower of Christ. It is unreasonable to suggest that God would not give us a sure and verifiable source for this information regarding what He expects and demands of His followers. He does not change and therefore neither should His Word ever change.
The King James Bible of 1611 tells us to; Abstain from all appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). The New International Version (NIV), renders this verse;
Avoid every kind of evil. Finally, the New American Standard Version (NASV) simply states:
Abstain from every form of evil. Now surely all thinking peoples can see we have a conflict of message here, so which one do we go by? With many people, the thinking would go something like this:
The new versions are based on the oldest and best manuscripts, so we know that the KJBible is in error, besides, God looks on my heart, and that is what matters, not what someone may think, based on what they may see.
So, go the thoughts of many today. How do they know the new versions are based upon the
oldest and best manuscripts? (they are not) Have they researched this important subject for themselves, or do they simply parrot what others are saying?
Such a small verse as 1 Thessalonians 5:22 can greatly affect the actions of the Christian who is seeking to obey all the teaching of the Bible and therefore be pleasing to God. As an example, the person who reads the NIV may see no harm in going into, say, a casino, or a bar, or maybe staying long hours in the home of a single person with no other accompaniment. They pretty much do as they please and if questioned simply say something like
I didn't do anything wrong and I was there for a good reason.
They may well have been there for good reason, but the person who is reading and following the King James Bible, will not allow themselves to come into that position of needing to be questioned, of appearing to be committing sin against God. They will also be mindful of 1 timothy 3:7 which says we must be above reproach by the unsaved, lest we be called a hypocrite, as well as our verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 admonishing us to avoid even the APPEARANCE of evil.
Despite the views of liberal
Christians today, if we are seen going into a bar, a casino, or to some private residence or place, either alone or with another person, it appears to be unholy activity, regardless of our intentions, and will therefore give witnesses reason to doubt our testimony and brings disgrace to God.
Today this simple warning is not taught as it should be and frankly, many just never stop to think about how their actions may look to others who are saved or unsaved. Granted, there are those deceived souls who see no harm in their actions, regardless of what version they read, or claim to read, Such people are not open to receiving Gods Word but are following in their own way, their own understanding, and are on the road to everlasting destruction.
Why is it so hard for some to believe that we have a perfect Bible within reach today? The sad fact is that many, even professing Christians don’t want to believe because it would require they alter their thinking and their behavior. One often hears that the Bible was perfect in
the originals, but folks all of the original manuscripts used to translate the King James Bible have vanished. They were bought at an auction shortly after 1611 and as far as history records they were never seen again. The manuscripts, and thousands of fragments that do remain are not available to the average person but to only a handful of people. Most of those same manuscripts are the ones new versions tout as being
the oldest and best when in reality most were taken from trash piles and early Egyptian schools of heresy. Many of these manuscripts do not agree with each other much less with the work of early Translators and the KJBible. These are the manuscripts you are reading when you read a new version whether it is the New King James
Bible (NKJV) or the New International Version (NIV).
Second Timothy 2:15 commands us to study, and since God is not unreasonable, despite what some say, He has given us a perfect and reliable source of His Word that we may obey His instruction and study with confidence that what we are reading is His Word.
If we look over in the Old Testament book of Exodus, chapter 35, beginning in verse 5 we learn that the first requirement in doing the Lord's work, is a
willing heart. This
willing heart is not of our own goodness, but is given to us by God, by the
stirring up of our spirit (Exodus 35:21; Philippians 2:13) and enables us to be taught by God. Continuing in Exodus 35 we learn:
And he [God] hath filled him [Uri] with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; ~ Exodus 35:31
All who make the false claim that the Bible is without erroronly in the originalsare guilty of playing God for a fool who is somehow unable to preserve His Word right down to where it is needed, in our hands today. Dear Reader, be warned that there are many preachers, pastors, Evangelists, and lay folks today who discount all butthe originalsas being without error. They are on dangerous ground and we must make a choice to follow man or to follow the Word of God in full faith believing that He preserved His Word for our use.
God equipped this man and many others to do the work He called him to do, and God does the same today, just as He was doing the same in 1604 through 1611 for the King James Bible Translators. Those today who say we do not have a perfect Bible are either set on deceiving folks, perhaps deceived themselves, or at best, parroting what others are saying without bothering to verify the facts concerning that which they have embraced.
All who make the false claim that the Bible is without error
only in the originals are guilty of playing God for a fool who is somehow unable to preserve His Word right down to where it is needed, in our hands today. Dear Reader, be warned that there are many preachers, pastors, Evangelists, and lay folks today who discount all but
the originals as being without error. They are on dangerous ground and we must make a choice to follow man or to follow the Word of God in full faith believing that He preserved His Word for our use. Only a select few have access to any Bible manuscripts today and the majority of them were rejected by the KJBible Translators as they have proven to be unreliable. Most of these folks have not realized the seriousness of their claim and that they are in fact denying the power of God which we know many will do in the last days as our Bible so clearly states:
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. ~ 2 Timothy 3:5
I realize and know that there are today a good number of good pastors who use modern versions and they have evidence of the Holy Spirit in their life and in their preaching, but they do not have all they could have because they have rejected that which was sanctified for their use long ago. Many will choose to continue on their path of willful ignorance rejecting the purified Word for that which is tarnished and incomplete. Then there are some that will decide they want to know more and will ingest all that is readily at hand, and eagerly furnished by high and pompous scholars who have no Spiritual understanding or knowledge. Such
scholars write and speak only from that understanding given by the carnal mind of man and not the wisdom and understanding that only the Holy Spirit of God can give. Even worse many write and speak from the Roman Catholic viewpoint that has vowed to bring all Protestants back under their umbrella of their heresy.
The Spirit filled Christian will reject this line of teaching almost immediately and begin to dig deeper as they pray for guidance. They are aware of the devils devices and know that there is always a counterfeit where there is truth. Truth seekers will dig a bit deeper searching out the facts and truth until the Holy Spirit of God witnesses to them that they have found the whole truth.
Men and women who are full of themselves and their carnal education, leaving no room for the Spirit of God, write and publish article after article, book after book, and make public speeches and seminars on their scholarly findings. They are trying to convince anyone and everyone that they have proven the King James Bible to be in error, and that they know for certain that we do not have an error free Bible today but only a facsimile. These same
scholars point out why the new version of their choice is
the best translation and is more reliable than the others.
The fact is that all of the new versions come from the same fountain and they all have major shortcomings as they take blasphemous liberties with God’s Word. The point is for the new Christian and those who have finally begun to question the version they have been using, to take care and use the discernment God has given. There are many pitfalls and there are many easy explanations that will sound
reasonable and tempting since everything seems all tied up in one neat package. Convenience has it’s price my friends.
It takes the Spirit of God to discern and understand the things of God, to distinguish truth from a lie, fact from error, and the right path from deception. Carnal understanding and scholarship are of little or no value when it comes to the things of God. In fact
scholarship appeals to the carnal vanity and pride in man and as the devil knows is one of the greatest stumbling blocks to finding Spiritual truth.
So student, beware and be aware that there is more information available other than that which is often found within easy grasp. Thankfully there are many publications out there that convey the truth of Gods Word, and we need to be careful who we trust so as not to deprive ourselves of ever finding them. This writer is thankful he dug deeper and will not stand before God Almighty and have to confess we trusted such teaching as suits the devils purposes. May you do likewise.
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. ~ Matthew 24:4; Romans 16:18; John 16:13a; 1 John 2:26;
Friends, there is no excuse for anyone who is a Christian to remain reading a counterfeit so-called Bible. You may say you were saved reading one of those
versions of the Bible and I would agree that is very possible as there is a lot of Gods Word in all of them. You should praise God that the Truth in them reached your heart and thank Him that He had mercy on you. If you were saved in a sinful environment God expects you to get out. If you were saved reading a counterfeit, God expects you to grow up and seek the meat! Cast that imitation into the fire and seek the WHOLE Word of God, because the days are evil and you will need ALL of God and His Word you can get to make it through!
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. ~ Hebrews 5:12-14
Those who are serious about their salvation and their relationship with God, will not settle for second rate. They will not settle for a portion when they can have the whole pie. They are not content to wonder what God said, what He meant, or if He even said it at all. God is not unreasonable, He is not unfair and He gave us the tools so that we might be found faithful and obedient when He returns, studying His word as He instructed. I believe the King James Bible was prepared especially for the last days when the wolves and false teachers would be so numerous among the sheep. When the days would be growing ever darker and more evil God knew we would need a perfect Bible that instilled faith, reassured us, and bolstered our trust in Him.
My concern is for your soul, and yes I am aware that some think me harsh, but the Truth is often harsh when it applies to us no matter how it is presented. Many thought Jesus was harsh and in fact many quit following Him for that very reason (John 6:65-68). Friend, I write from understanding based upon having walked the path of the deceived. From having used and recommended the counterfeits before I came to know the truth. I write from knowledge based on prayer and much study, and the conviction that I had not yet found the truth drove me on until I did.
You may be asking what is it to this writer what version anyone reads? You may be wondering if I have stock in King James Bibles or some such thing. The answer is a resounding
no but I do have
stock one might say in souls. Being a servant of the Most High God, who purchased the saved with His own blood, I am commanded to preach the Truth to every creature. Is it better for me to sit quietly and be disapproved by God, or to speak Truth and receive the condemnation of men? We are not here for a popularity contest, We are here to snatch as many souls from the pit as we can, before it is forever too late. To avoid that pit we all need ALL of the Word of God and we need it untainted.

Therefore you will excuse me if I do not have time or desire to entertain flimsy excuses about counterfeit so-called
Bibles or why some claim they can't understand the language in the King James Bible. Those excuses are all built on shifting sand. We don't care how much of the alphabet higher education schooling has put before or after someone’s name. If they do not believe, trust, and use the King James Bible then to this writer they are just another poor deceived soul in need of the discerning Spirit of Jesus. Please don’t be found among them on Judgment Day.
May God lead and guide us is my earnest prayer. ~ JimO
